First Baptist Church generously supports mission and ministry across the globe, both as an individual church and as a part of American Baptist Churches of the USA. Here are a few of the ways we share the love of Christ to all nations in tangible ways.
Medical Mission to Nicaragua
Since 1967 our church has supported AMOS, a Christian medical mission in Managua, Nicaragua now led by Drs. David & Laura Parajon. Each year a team of First Baptist youth and adults, as well as community volunteers, spend two weeks working on various projects to support this mission. Teams have provided earthquake, hurricane, and flood relief.
Over the years our team has partnered with the villagers and built health clinics and schools; provided instruction on sanitation and personal hygiene; taught school and shared ministry with those in prison.
Recently, First Baptist celebrated the opening of the First Baptist Church in Managua with Dr. Gustavo & Joan Parajon. The building of this church was supported through the efforts and financial support of members of First Baptist Church of Greater Cleveland.
Other Supported Institutions
Through our mission budget we support Palmer Theological Seminary, The Vellore Christian Medical College and Hospital in India and other worthy institutions as they come to the attention of our Mission Commission.
